
Kevin has over 30 years of experience in document management, digitization and digital preservation for some of the largest museums, libraries and archives in the world. In the 1990s Kevin learned about museum collections management working at the National Museum of the American Indian - Smithsonian Institution, Gallery Systems and as the Systems Analyst in the Anthropology Division of the American Museum of Natural History where he directed the digitization program for the division's artifacts and archives. After earning an MLIS at the Pratt Institute in New York City in 2005 he joined the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) as a Program Officer, then served as Digital Preservation Analyst for the National Library of New Zealand's National Digital Heritage Archives where he helped develop the requirements for their Rosetta digital preservation repository. From 2010 until 2025 Kevin worked as a Electronic Records Policy Analyst at NARA and was responsible for developing policies, guidance, and regulations for federal agencies to ensure that their electronic records remain accessible for as long as needed. Kevin serves as convener for ISO TC 171 WG5, the international standards body responsible for the PDF/A family of formats and has been involved in PDF standards development since 2011.
Greg has over 30 years experience in all areas of archival processing and electronic records. He started his career working the Reference Desk and processing paper records at the Utah State Archives. He then worked for Johns Hopkins University's Eisenhower Library before becoming the webmaster for the State of Maryland while working on electronic records projects at the Maryland State Archives. In 2004 Greg joined the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) as an Electronic File Format Specialist with the responsibility of ensuring agency transfers met the guidelines promulgated by NARA. He also worked to develop, write, and test these guidelines.
Special projects included converting 50 year old legacy data to the latest file formats and creating file format signatures for easier identification of incoming files.
